The UCSB Department of Theater and Dance presented An Intimate Conversation with Kathleen Turner moderated by Irwin Appel on April 21 at 5 pm in the Hatlen Theater.

Screen icon Kathleen Turner has garnered critical acclaim for her performances in movies including Body Heat, Romancing The Stone and Prizzi’s Honor, which earned her a Golden Globe Award for each; Peggy Sue Got Married, which brought Turner both an Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe nomination; and War of the Roses, and yet another Golden Globe nomination. Ms. Turner has also starred on Broadway in Cat On a Hot Tin Roof and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf earning a Tony nomination for each. Join us for an exploration of the brilliant career of this important film and theater star.

Kathleen Turner’s residency is a part of the Michael Douglas Visiting Artist Program. A gift from Academy Award-winning actor and UC Santa Barbara alumnus Michael Douglas (1968) established the program in the Department of Theater and Dance in 1993. This program brings renowned artists to UC Santa Barbara for multi-day residencies to work with students, faculty and the community.
