2017-2018 Performance Season

Dear Friends of Theater and Dance,

We are thrilled to announce a gift to the Department of one million dollars from John and Jody Arnhold establishing the Arnhold Endowed Theater and Dance Production Fund. Thank you to the Arnholds and all of our generous donors. We could not do what we do without you!

The season kicks off with our first ever repertory of two classic masterpieces: the NAKED SHAKES production of King Lear, and Arthur Miller’s A View From The Bridge. The Fall Dance Concert follows featuring the choreographic work of our excellent student, faculty and guest artists. Winter abounds with performances starting with an innovative concert by our highly acclaimed resident professional dance company Santa Barbara Dance Theater, The World of Extreme Happiness by our very own playwright-in-residence Frances Ya-Chu Cowhig, and the LAUNCH PAD preview production of Anne Garci?a-Romero’s Staging the Daffy Dame. Spring brings another wonderful dance concert and our New Works Lab showcasing original plays, fresh choreography and innovative devised works by select undergraduate and graduate students. We close the season with the timely musical Cabaret.

We are proud of our excellent faculty, who continue to make significant contributions to the field in the form of nationally and internationally recognized publications and performances with our talented students producing vigorous and engaging work both on and o stage, and our terrific staff who make everything we do possible.

Please join us for our 53rd season!
