POSITION OVERVIEW

Salary range: See Table 15 for the salary range for this position. The actual appointment percentage is variable, derived from an estimated full-time (100%) annual salary range of $68,247 to $70,295.

Percent time: 11-22%

Position duration: The department is seeking pre-six lecturers to teach one or more classes on a quarter-based system. Appointments may be isolated to one quarter or span multiple quarters.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Department of Theater and Dance invites applications a Lecturer teaching position during the 2024-2025 Academic Year for "History of Decorative Styles": a survey of the evolution of design styles, emphasizing the history of design and designers, including a study of both interior and exterior decoration with concentration on furnishing, accessories and the change patterns of culture.

Work will be in person on the UCSB campus. Reimbursement for travel and housing expenses will not be provided. Information about the UCSB Department of Theater and Dance is available through the Department’s web page: http://www.theaterdance.ucsb.edu/

The Department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of a Tier 1 Research University. Salary is standard, based on the UC’s salary scales and depends on qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Applicants must possess an MFA in Theater Design or, in the absence of a degree, 5 years equivalent professional experience in the specified field.

Preferred qualifications

A minimum of three years of Theater / Costume Design teaching experience at the college or university level.
